Mo Money Mo Problems

Sometimes my life decisions are terrible. Not today, though.  My life decisions right now are hilarious.

When I’m not dazzling others on the stage (heheheh), I work in project accounting.  Part of my job entails me writing checks for our subcontractors.  I have to create batches for a specific check run, and manually print a few sheets before I can actually write those checks.

For whatever reason, lately our accounting program, Coins, has been acting a fool.  Coins will not let me print my batches, saying checks haven’t been selected.  Anyway, my supervisor and I have been in contact with the help-desk person, and I was advised to stop using the same batch name (my name).  Follow?

Well, that was the help desk person’s first mistake.

Yesterday’s batch names- can you guess which ones are mine?

Hi Susan

I, like Erin, tried to print the edit list and got the same error.  I did a show and a print on the batch to ensure there were items there.  Once I did that, I was able to print the edit list to the screen so that it is now out there and you can reprint it from AP > Module Utilities > 80. Reprint Posting/Purge Reports Menu >  4. Check Edit List Report for review – it is process 286456:

(And last week’s batch names:)

I see that erb had other batches since 4/18:

That email was cc’d to my real boss, the CFO.

I’ve been laughing at my desk all morning.

  1. Hi, on April 2nd, it looks like you posted a question about your blog post mysteriously vanishing. I just wanted to let you know what I figured out was the case when my blog post vanished: It turned out that I had been writing it in the Drafts of a different blog of mine – one that I don’t update that much – by accident. So, when I went back to the Drafts of the blog where I thought I had written it, it wasn’t there. After I found it in the other blog’s drafts, I spruced it up & published it here: http://daisybrain.wordpress.com/2010/11/21/missing-post-mysteriously-reappears/
